| The Paper Shipping Sack Manufacturers’ Association (PSSMA) held its 2022 Annual Meeting November 1-4, 2022 at the Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana. Attendees noted that it was an exciting and memorable occasion, marked with celebration and expressed gratitude for the opportunity for everyone in the industry to get back together again. Signaling a change of leadership, outgoing PSSMA Chairman Frederick Moeller of Bancroft Bag handed the ceremonial gavel over to new PSSMA Chairman Dale Stevens of Hood Packaging Corporation. Mr. Stevens thanked Mr. Moeller of Bancroft Bag for his service over the last two years, noting the challenges faced during his tenure and strong growth in associate membership and the industry. Mr. Stevens welcomed members and guests to the event and noted the very positive energy among the group. Celebrating the highest honor of the multiwall bag industry, the 2022 Richard E. Storat – PSSMA Annual Industry Excellence Award was presented to Mr. John Smith from the Hood Packaging Corporation in Madison, MS. Mr. Smith is the 4th recipient of this distinguished award. Mr. Smith has supported the PSSMA for decades, including serving on the Board of Directors and Technical Committee and participating in the operations of the association. Accepting the award from Chairman Stevens, Mr. Smith noted his surprise and expressed genuine gratitude for all the PSSMA members, associates and guests. Mr. Stevens also announced that the next PSSMA Production Meeting will be held May 16-18th, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee and Annual Meeting will be held October 24-27th, 2023, at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
