PSSMA Honors Robert Langston with Richard E. Storat PSSMA Industry Excellence Award at Annual Meeting
Expands Membership Eligibility to Include All Paper Bag Manufacturers
COOPERSBURG, PA (November 13, 2019) – At the Paper Shipping Sack Manufacturers’ Association (PSSMA) 2019 Annual Meeting, held October 24-27 in Phoenix, Arizona, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to name Robert E. Langston of Langston Companies as the second recipient of the Richard E. Storat PSSMA Industry Excellence Award.
Mr. Langston is honored for his countless contributions to the association and the multiwall bag industry over many years. He served as chairman of PSSMA from 2005-2006, has served on the Technical Committee and acted as liaison with the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) Technical Bag Committee and other associated organizations for many years. “Mr. Langston’s steadfast commitment to the association has helped build the PSSMA into the strong organization it is today,” said Greg Storat, PSSMA president.
Mr. Langston became president of Langston Companies in 1966, is a dedicated businessman, a diligent pilot, an avid snow skier and fly fisherman; and he enjoys spending quality time with his wife Laurie, daughter Lauren, son Edward, and his six grandchildren in Memphis, Tennessee.
Also at the meeting, PSSMA leadership highlighted its mission to expand regular membership in the PSSMA to include all manufacturers of paper sacks and bags, including special use single wall, retail grocery bags and quick service retail style bags.
